Dior Jeanne Small Hobo |

We all remember Dior's Joan of Arc inspired 'Jeanne' Bag that was brought to our attention during the Spring/Summer '07 showings at Fashion Week. Yes, the very one that I couldn't stop raving about. As if we could forget that bag? It's now plastered on most of Dior's Ad Campaigns (aside from the Dior Cannage Collection). Also from the 'Jeanne' collection, is this comparatively 'toned-down', more subdued hobo bag, with the same chainmail-detail closures as the other Jeanne bags.
Made of calf leather, trimmed with suede, chainmail and studded details, this more simple-looking bag from the Jeanne collection retails for $1450 via eLuxury

Bulgari Cocktail Bag |

If you're looking for a Cocktail or Evening Bag to go with your LBD, then this would be it. The reason for my saying this is because this bag is so unique (from the Deep Fuschia colour to the Details and design of the bag) that if worn with anything other than an LBD, your bag will not be getting the attention it very well deserves. What I'm trying to say is, with such a special bag like this, it needs to stand out, and what better way than against a black canvas (hence your LBD)? Made from Ibisco and Python Velvet with Gold details, this Cocktail Frame Bag by Bulgari is definitely a conversation piece and is, in Bagaholic Babe's opinion, deserves to be called a 'Classic', in the same league with the Chanel 2.55. If Fuschia is not the colour for you, this Cocktail Frame Bag is available in other colours and materials. Hop on over to your nearest Bulgari Boutique to enquire.

Kate Spade Painted Satchels |
I've always had a soft spot for Kate Spade Bags, and I'm sure if none of you have heard of Kate Spade before Sex and the City, by now, you're probably familiar with this designer. Anyway, I digress. From her Spring/Summer '07 Collection, the World War 2 Painted satchel - bags that actually look like works of Art!
You might be curious as to why it's called the World War 2 Satchel. Well, the reason is that during WW2, soldiers painted their bags so that they could be easily identified. So, drawing from that influence, these painted satchels have been replicated using distressed leather and aged hardware to give the satchel a rustic, vintage and antique look and feel.
Rose - Front
Roses - Back View
White Floral - Front
White Floral - Back View
Blue Floral - Front
Detail Closeup - Buckles given an aged, rustic, and Vintage feel.
This World War 2 Painted Satchel comes in 3 different designs and colours - Each is bag is uniquely Hand-Painted so no two bags are the same. It's hand-painted on both sides, so if you don't want to carry it with the buckles facing outwards, you could flip it over and you'll have a tote instead of a satchel. (see pics above).
If you're interested in either owning a piece of history or your very own 'piece of Art', get this WW2 Painted Satchel by Kate Spade for $395 via Kate Spade Online

Anya Hindmarch 'Marlie' Bag |
I must say that the general look and design of Anya Hindmarch's bags have evolved tremendously. Previously, one could more or less identify an Anya Hindmarch piece by looking at it, but this one had me baffled. When I saw this, I initially thought that it was a Gucci piece, due to the chain link gold bits in the middle of the bag, as Gucci had a few bags in a similar design and style, from the embossed leather GG monogram collection. Much to my surprise, it was actually an Anya Hindmarch piece.
Made of White leather with chunky gold chain detailing and lined in suede, this somewhat Bowler-ish shaped 'Marlie' Tote from Anya Hindmarch's 'Day Bags' Collection retails for £510.64 via Net-a-Porter. Also available in Black.

Valentino Braided Handle Bag |

I know that this bag has been around since the beginning of 2007. Like Valentino's signature showstopper and showcloser for all their couture runway shows (Yes, I'm speaking about the signature Red Dress), the first time this handbag was released, it was in (yup, you guessed it!) Red as well! I kinda liked this bag in Red, but it was a tad too loud for me. Everytime I see this bag, I look at it because I really like the design (I've never been a fan of multipockets but I guess this one is an exception), but decide otherwise because well, it's too Red Hot for me. BUT when I laid my eyes upon the same bag, but in Pastel Pink, I was smitten! Unlike the Red which gives off a very fierce, almost urban femme fatale sorta bag, the one in pink is sooo sweet and innocent, it's the ultimate girlie bag for the urban girlie girl. It's femininity personified! If you're as smitten as I am, Get this bag for $1695, and the Red one for $1595 via Bergdorf Goodman

Paul Smith Floral Clutch cum Purse |

Paul Smith 'Cecilia'
Paul Smith 'Cecilia' - Interior View
Wow. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine something so artsy and yet chic and elegant from Paul Smith. Well, you might ask why I say that but, Paul Smith's collections, be it bags or items from his RTW collection, all have a certain look...(yes his stripey signature look mostly). So you can imagine how stunned I was when I chanced upon this beauty. I absolutely adore the watercolour sorta effect on the floral print. It actually gives the illusion as if the flowers have actually been handpainted onto it! With the granny purse styled kiss lock closure on this leather framed clutch, together with the pink canvas lining, the result is simply stunning! A marriage of Art and Romanticism - a match made in heaven! Get this for £ 225 from Paul Smith Online . Also available in Red

Burberry Spring Check Canvas Tote |

I must say that I've never been a fan of Burberry and their House Checks (I've always thought of Burberry House Checks, yes even the blue and pink pastel ones, as slightly mature). However, this time around, I must commend Burberry's Creative/Artistic Director Christopher Bailey for this new colour palette that exudes a 'younger' and more vibrant feel, adding character to the usual 'blah' looking House Checks. The freshness of it all, from the colour to the style, the 'Spring Check Canvas Tote' by Burberry stands for all things Spring. Get this for $630 via Saks

Bulgari Ostrich Shoulder Bag |

Bulgari Shoulder Bag in Ostrich and Palladium
Yes, it's still Spring and White is still THE Colour of the Season. Because of that, Bagaholic Babe has picked this Bulgari Shoulder Tote in Ostrich, well and also because I'm a sucker for Ostrich Leather (just love the textured look created by the 'spots'!). Another reason why I've picked something from Bulgari is because they have a great collection of Bags and Leather Goods, but sadly, they don't really get air time simply because Bulgari isn't really a brand one thinks of when looking for a handbag...Jewellery yes, but when it comes to handbags, no one really thinks of Bulgari. So in all fairness, here's a Bulgari piece from the Spring/Summer 2007 Collection.

Presenting: New Collections - Louis Vuitton's "Braided Leather" Collection |
Presenting: Louis Vuitton's 'Braided Leather' Collection from Spring/Summer 2007
Oh dear! When I first saw this 'Braided Leather' Collection on Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2007 Runway Preview last year, my jaw literally dropped. And no, not in a good way. Well for those of you who are either Asian or residing in Asia, then it probably looks somewhat familiar to you but you can't really place your finger on where you've seen something like that before right? Well, let me tell you why it looks familiar then. Look closely and you'll be reminded of the striking resemblance to the Red, White and Blue Raffia Bags from China (you know those that kinda make regular appearances on Cantonese TVB dramas and serials..)
If you don't believe me, then have a look for yourself...
Street GM - $1900 Euros
Street PM - $1200 Euros
Detail Closeup
Well, ok, perhaps the khaki/beige coloured one doesn't quite resemble the Chinese Raffia Bag.. but, as for the red... with the exception of Louis Vuitton's 'Trunks and Bags' Stamped logo, it looks pretty much the same don't you think? Well as for it being made of 'braided leather' as the collection is called, well...who knew... Well, I guess if these bags sell out, then the credit doesn't go to Marc Jacobs but to the brains behind the Chinese Red White and Blue raffia bags. Are we in agreement here?
Tell me what you think..

Presenting: New Collections -- Louis Vuitton's 'Olympe' Collection |
Presenting: Louis Vuitton's 'Monogram Olympe' Collection from Spring/Summer 2007
Well, well well...This is perhaps the best collection (together with the Monogram Polka Dots Panema) out of Vuitton's whole Spring/Summer Collections for this year. This 'Monogram Olympe' Collection consists of 3 bags - the Cirrus, the Stratus and the Nimbus. This 'Olympe' Collection was inspired by Greek Mythology and Mount Olympus (hence 'Olympe' Collection). Made of lamb leather, Louis Vuitton's signature monogram logo print is embroidered (utilising elastic thread) onto the leather to create the smoky, fleecy effect and to give it a buffed washed look and feel.

Monogram Olympe - 'Cirrus', $1800 Euros
Monogram Olympe - Nimbus, $1700 Euros
Monogram Olympe - Stratus GM, $2,200 Euros

Bagaholic Babe's fave pick is the Stratus GM. The gold hardware on the ecru coloured leather gives the bags in this 'Monogram Olympe' Collection a chic, classy and timeless look.

Presenting: New Collections -- Chanel's Paris-Biarritz Collection |
Presenting Chanel's Paris-Biarritz Collection from Spring-Summer 2007
(Images from Chanel.com)
The Paris-Biarritz Collection was named after Coco Chanel's favourite city (Biarritz) and Paris, where she opened her first haute couture boutique. But, of course, the brand's signature quilted look, something that has become synonymous with Chanel, still makes an appearance in this new collection. I mean, it wouldn't be a Chanel piece without the quilted details, now, would it?
Shopper styled bags (medium, large and oversized), hobo bags and cosmetic cases are armed with the double C zipper pull make up this entireParis-Biarritz Collection. Choose between metallic grosgrain canvas, or if you prefer the ultra luxed up version, you could always opt for the one in Alligator. Bagaholic Babe's personal favourite are the Metallic Peachy Pink ones... so sweet! My heart just melted and stopped the moment I laid eyes on it. *teehee*
Small Hobo in Metallic Silver (RM4,020)
Small Shopper in Beige Alligator
Large hobo and Medium Shopping Bag in Black Grosgrain Canvas (RM$4,420)
Small Shopper and Small Hobo
Medium Shopper in Black Alligator
Oversized Shopper in Black Alligator
Cosmetic Case and Medium Hobo in Metallic Silver Grosgrain Canvas
Hm, Chanel seems to have injected some youth into this collection, for it doesn't look like your regular Chanel Classic pieces. Perhaps it's made for a woman who's always on-the-go. Why am I saying this? Well, perhaps due to its 'Sportier' and more 'Athletic' feel and look. I'd say, this is the most chic 'active' lifestyle kinda bag I've seen out there so far, so Kudos to Lagerfeld on a job well done.
Available at your nearest Chanel Boutique.
For those Malaysians out there, yes, the Paris-Biarritz Collection is available at the Chanel Boutique, G37, KLCC

Haute Designer: Devi Kroell and her Roman bag in Python |
Designer Profile: Devi Kroell
Source: DeviKroell.com
Devi Kroell’s vision as a designer is as varied as her upbringing. As the daughter of a diplomat father, Kroell spent her childhood in Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Switzerland, Israel, France and Italy. While Kroell now considers herself to be a New Yorker, her diverse past is effortlessly incorporated into her designs each season. "Very much like New York, I try to take out the essences of all cultures." Each collection creates a perfect fusion of her nomadic past: the postmodern shapes associated with her native Austria, the snake skins of Indonesia, and the exquisite workmanship of the French and Italian.
The Spring 2004 launch of Kroell’s premiere handbag collection was received with high praise from stores, magazines, celebrities and peers in the fashion industry. Soon after the premiere handbags were launched for the Spring 2004 season, the collection was picked up by such respected stores as Barneys New York, Browns, Jeffrey New York, and premium boutiques worldwide. She was instantly held in the highest regard in such publications as Vogue, W, Harper’s Bazaar,
Elle and WWD, where she continues to be a favorite among top fashion editors and writers.
In June of 2006 Kroell was honored at the CFDA Awards with the Swarovski Perry Ellis Award for Accessory Design. That same month she also opened her first retail boutique on Main Street in East Hampton, New York. Her pieces can also be found in cities nationwide; including Beverly Hills, Chicago, Las Vegas, Dallas, and Atlanta.

Presenting: New Collections -- Louis Vuitton Polka Dot Fleurs |
Today's Featurette is is Louis Vuitton's Polka Dots Fleurs line from its 'Show Spring 2007' Collections.
The Polka Dot Fleurs Collection is inspired by the magic of fairy tales, combining originality and fantasy. If you've been a regular follower of this blog, you'd know that like the Monogram Dentelle and Polka Dots Panema Collections (which are also from Louis Vuitton's 'Show Spring 2007' Range), a new focus on detail for LV is the Creased-finished hardware. And for this Polka Dots Fleurs Collection, it is the decorative padlock that showcases the creashed-finished look. What sets this collection apart from the other Polka Dots Ranges (the Polka Dots Panema featured 2 days ago, and the Polka Dots Navy, which will be featured soon) is the multi coloured Polka Dots that adorn the bags from this collection (hence, 'Polka Dots Fleur' as the colours give off the impression of flowers).

Polka Dot Fleurs - 'Morgane', is embellished with 468 coloured buttons, some of which, like the Polka Dots Panema, are stamped with LV's 'Trunks and Bags' Logo (see last pic for Closeup)
Retails for a whopping $5,000 Euros a pop!
Polka Dot Fleurs - 'Viviane' is a Flap Bag with 281 Coloured buttons, selected buttons are stamped with LV's 'Trunks and Bags' Logo.
Retails for $3500 Euros
Detail Closeup of creased hardware, decorative padlock and coloured buttons, some of which are stamped with the 'Trunks and Bags' Logo.
Well, I don't know about you guys, but I think that this Polka Dots Fleurs Collection is wayy too embellished and way too 'busy' for my liking. There is so much going on, from the coloured buttons to the creased hardware, that the eyes and the brain (well, my brain at least) gets confused on which part it should focus on!
Bagaholic Babe still prefers the Polka Dots Panema Collection out of all the 'Show Spring 2007' Collections.

Bagaholic Babe's Top Picks from Bottega Veneta Spring Summer 2007 |
Here are Bagaholic Babe's Favourite Picks from Bottega Veneta's Spring-Summer 2007 Collection
And from the looks of it, this Spring-Summer 2007, it's all about pastel pinks and dusky purples for the brand! Well, for my top picks anyway. Hehe.
First up, we have the 'Julie' Bag. Bagaholic Babe has always loved Bottega Veneta's 'Julie' -styled bag. Ever since I saw this bag in aubergine (think Brinjal purple, my Fendi Chef Bag or yes God forbid...Barney purple). Perhaps it could be because Bagaholic Babe doesn't really like the woven look (yes, I know that it's the brand's signature style) and in the 'Julie' style, weaving is kept minimal. The other reason why I favour this bag is perhaps due to the slouchy-ness of the bag - it has just the right amount of the 'slouch' factor. More often than not, even with premier designer brands, finding a bag with just the right amount of slouch can prove to be quite a feat. Oh and this 'Julie' Bag in dusky purple also happens to be Bottega Veneta's Artistic/Creative Director's (Tomas Maier's) number one pick from this season! ;) *winks* Pre-Order this bag for $1550 from Bottega Veneta . Inquire for other colours.
The Floral Tote is a new look this season for Bottega. I think it's safe to say that this is a first for the brand, in terms of applique leather flowers that adorn the bag. Change is always good! For this bag, although the brand's signature woven look is maintained, the focus is on the flowers draw attention to the eye, and hence becomes the new point of focus of the bag. Pre-Order this for $1390 via Bottega Veneta
Bottega Veneta Anaconda Continental Wallet - Front View
Bottega Veneta Anaconda Wallet - Interior View
Last but not least, the Continental Wallet, made from Anaconda skin. The perfect complementary colour and the perfect wallet to go with your 'Julie' Bag! Being a fan of Exotics (especially Ostrich) I'm Loving this wallet! This wallet has 10 credit card slots and a bill slot! Pre-Order this now for just $790 via Bottega Veneta It's in Anaconda, which is more rare than your average Python, so for $790, its an absolute steal!

Presenting: Louis Vuitton 'Riveting' |
Today's featurette is the Riveting Bag from 'Show Spring 2007's 'Riveting' Collection
Before its release, it was first seen in Louis Vuitton's Ad Campaign in January, featuring Scarlett Johansson.
Riveting Bag - $2,200 Euros
I suppose Louis Vuitton's embracing 'studded rivets' more punkish look and assimilating it into the brand's classic style. The reason for my saying this is due to the fact that quite a number of the bags from Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2007 Collection have a similar studded look with the quilted topstitched squares embellished with rivets and the logo plaque. If you are an LV fan, or if you have been following this blog regularly, you would know that the 'Rivets Pochette', a new addition to LV's signature Monogram Canvas line sports this same look.

Presenting: New Collections -- Louis Vuitton Polka Dots Panema |
Today's Featurette is from Louis Vuitton's 'Show Spring 2007' Collection: the Polka Dot Panema line.
The Polka Dot Panema line, in Bagaholic Babe's opinion, is not your common LV type of bag. In fact, it doesn't look like anything LV has done thus far! So yes, change is good! ;) Especially when it looks as pretty as this!
The Polka Dots Panema line utilises Linen and Stonewashed canvas, Monogram Acetate Viscose Lining (see pic below), Canvas Trimmings and the new creased-finished hardware that we saw in yesterday's featurette, the Monogram Dentele Line. And of course, not forgetting the main detail on the bags from this Polka Dots Panema Line, the Polka Dots are stamped with Louis Vuitton's 'Trunks and Bags' Logo (see last pic for detail closeup). Other details seen across all the bags are the removable ID tag, lock and key and bell charms.
Polka Dot Panema - 'Big Steamer' inspired by the Italian Arte Povera Movement.
$2,200 Euros
Polka Dot Panema - 'Bowly' $1,700 Euros
The Bowler Bag is a new shape for LV, as first seen in their Epi Leather Line this year.
Bowly - Interior View: Monogram Acetate Viscose Lining
Polka Dot Panema - Tinkerbell, inspired by the Peter Pan fairytale, is a combination of femininity with Romanticism
Detail Closeup - Polka Dots stamped with Louis Vuitton's signature 'Trunks and Bags' Logo and creased-finished hardware
Bagaholic Babe's Verdict: My absolute favourite collection from all of LV's Show Spring 2007 Collection. Bagaholic Babe's absolute favourite pick is the 'Tinkerbell'. Kudos to this collection on a job well done, Marc Jacobs! ;)
