Everything PINK.... Well, Almost! |
You might have already guessed what my post'll consist of today. Since we're just a day away from Valentine's Day and for those of you who haven't got your girlfriends anything (which you had better not do), well.. here are a few gift ideas that I hope might help you out!
First up we've got the Juicy Couture 'Couture Diary' that comes in PINK and also available gold leather with the Juicy embossed crest and a "Confessions of a Couture Girl" print on front. Ultra cool!
Juicy Couture 'Couture Diary' $95.00
Next up is a PINK MP3 Leather Travel Case that magnetically attasches to your MP3 on the sides. It comes with speakers and an audio jack for connecting to the MP3 player. How wonderful!
MP3 Travel Case Sale $59.90
Another recommendation is another item from Juicy - the Couture The World Travel Journal. What a better way than to put it down on paper the travels you've made (maybe with your beau). The journal comes in PINK and the words printed in brown says "Couture the World" and "Secrets of a Juicy Girl's Journeys".
Juicy Couture 'Couture The World' Travel Journal $55.00
And last but not least.. I know, you're gonna say this isn't PINK but it is just too pretty to leave out. A silver plated game set, the Shoe and Handbag Tic-Tac-Toe Set comes with rhinestone accents. A very appropriate gift, it sits extremely well as a display item on the coffee table of the Ultimate Shopaholic's home. See for yourself what I mean..
Shoe & Handbag Tic-Tac-Toe Set $65.00
I'm quite sure you've got an idea now what girls like - shopaholic especially. So go out and get it for your girl! Happy Valentine's Day!

Bargain of the Week! |
This week's Bargain of the Week is not really of the bag sort. Instead, this week's bargain is a beautiful jewellery box with a black-and-white flower printed motif.

Personally, Bagaholic Babe loves anything with black-and-white together, but perhaps not really on bags but on clothes instead. I just love the artsy modern floral prints and motifs (but I am not a fan of the 'country-ish' small flower motif vibe...what I call the 'Laura Ashley' or 'Little House on the Prairie' effect, lol)! ;)
With tassel details on the front, this printed jewellery box retails for just £8 via Asos . Forget bargain, this is definitely a steal!!

Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Miss Marc' Oversized Tote |
For seasons past, the caricature seen on Marc by Marc Jacobs bags was the very scary looking voodoo doll-like 'Katie'. For this Fall/Winter season, the new caricature that adorns Marc by Marc Jacobs bags is the very cutesy-looking 'Miss Marc'. As this bag is from the Fall/Winter Collection, 'Miss Marc' sports a snowflake shirt. I must say that I've seen the actual bag, and the pictures below don't do the bag much justice at all because it's so much cuter than the photos foretell.

'Miss' Marc Oversized PolkaDot Tote - Interior View
Made of canvas and fastened with a magnetic snap closure, this oversized polkadotted tote has bow-detailed knotted handles that add to the bag's already cutesy look. You'll be glad to know that this bag can be worn in 3 ways! Apart from the square tote above, the sides of the bag can be folded in so that you have a more triangular sorta look that would resemble the shape of Fendi's Bag De Jour. In addition to that, this bag is also reversible. When reversed, the outer side will sport Marc by Marc Jacobs signature logo print (as above). Hm, this bag may seem like a overly huge day bag, but it looks good on the shoulder! Plus, it's great for travelling! This Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Miss Marc' Polkadot Oversized Tote comes with a very affordable pricetag - just £112.34! Available via Net-a-Porter.
In fact, Bagaholic Babe is thinking of getting one!! It's just way too cute to resist..It's available in Malaysia at Isetan@ The Gardens, MidValley for RM899 and there was only one piece available! Hopefully it's not gone by the time I go there...

Bargain of the Week! |
This week's Bargain of the Week is of the Specialty Bag sort, ie. a bag intended for a specific purpose. For this week, imported directly from Japan, it's super-cute grocery bags you can cart along during your grocery shopping trip. Yep, since Anya Hindmarch's 'I'm Not a Plastic Bag', Grocery bags are quickly becoming fashion statements. Since then, it has become a sin not to have a fab grocery bag. Made of polyester, these bags are enviromentally friendly too! Choose from 2 cute and quirky designs, the Chihuahua, or the Jelly bean print grocery tote.
Don't you think the Chihuahua print one reminds us a little of Anya Hindmarch's printed Blue Label Bags? These adorable bags even have a side zippered cellphone pocket with an additional pocket on the inside! Also chihuahua and jelly bean-printed, depending on the exterior of the bag. Get these cute totes for just $30 each via Fred Flare

Yes, Fashion Week ended a couple of weeks ago, so Here's the Bag 'It List' Roundup from Milan Fashion Week, Spring/Summer 2008. You'll notice that Artsy and Printed Bags and Exotic bags primarily make up the 'It Bag' List from Milan's Fashion Week.

Presenting: Fashion Week: Prada S/S Collection '08 |
Presenting: Prada's Spring/Summer Collection 2008 right off the runways of Milan Fashion Week
Well well well.. I have to say that I'm not at all pleased with Prada's S/S '08 Collection. Yes, I know that it's for Spring/Summer next year, and those seasons are all about colours and brights, but MUST they be put TOGETHER? Ok, if Miuccia Prada insists on putting the brights together to form one bag, at least choose complementary colours and not contrasting mismatched colours. I notice that this is a trend amongst the designers who showed their Spring/Summer 2008 Collections at Milan Fashion Week this year - Pucci, Marni (which I will be featuring these few weeks) and the rest are all doing it in similar styles!

The Verdict: Bagaholic Babe is appalled. I guess it only takes one bad apple to contaminate the rest! With Pucci, Marni, etc doing similar mismatched colours in similar styles (perhaps the only difference is they use different shapes for their geometric patterns?!). The disease has spread like wildfire! There's just now way of putting it out!! The result for Prada's mismatched colour palette with the use of stripes is a common thread that binds the whole collection together is a collection that in Bagaholic Babe's opinion has come off as rather clownish and jester-ly (yep, I'm talking about the Palace 'jokers' that entertained the Kings during Medieval times - looks exactly like their costume, methinks..)
Perhaps the only standalone pieces that I sort of like are the first 2 bags above, which look like they are a canvas for works of art..
What do YOU think?

Hermes Eco-Friendly Bag! |
When we first blogged about Anya Hindmarch's "I'm Not a Plastic Bag" early this year, we also mentioned that Hermes has also gone green. For all you Hermes fans out there, here's a look at the new Eco-Friendly Bag by Hermes. Called the "Silky Pop" Bag because it's made from silk and leather, this bag is not a limited edition (unlike the "Plastic Bag"). The design and motifs on the "Silky Pop" come from Hermes's popular scarf prints from the brands archives. So, the prints that will be used on this "Silky Pop" bag will vary from season to season.
What's unique about this bag is that as shown in the picture above, this bag is foldable, making it easily stowed away be it when you travel, or etc. This bag is so creatively and cleverly designed that when you fold the bag, the attached leather base (with the zippers as shown in pic above) actually becomes the bag's carrying case (see the zippered leather square in the girl's hand shown above)! Also, because it's made of silk, it's incredibly light in weight! The Silky Pop is definitely one-of-a-kind, and you can be sure that the whole world wouldn't be toting it around too (like Anya's Plastic Bag)! Get this eco-friendly, reusable "Silky Pop" bag by super-luxe brand, Hermes for $960 or $700 Euros via Hermes

Kate Spade Painted Satchels |
I've always had a soft spot for Kate Spade Bags, and I'm sure if none of you have heard of Kate Spade before Sex and the City, by now, you're probably familiar with this designer. Anyway, I digress. From her Spring/Summer '07 Collection, the World War 2 Painted satchel - bags that actually look like works of Art!
You might be curious as to why it's called the World War 2 Satchel. Well, the reason is that during WW2, soldiers painted their bags so that they could be easily identified. So, drawing from that influence, these painted satchels have been replicated using distressed leather and aged hardware to give the satchel a rustic, vintage and antique look and feel.
Rose - Front
Roses - Back View
White Floral - Front
White Floral - Back View
Blue Floral - Front
Detail Closeup - Buckles given an aged, rustic, and Vintage feel.
This World War 2 Painted Satchel comes in 3 different designs and colours - Each is bag is uniquely Hand-Painted so no two bags are the same. It's hand-painted on both sides, so if you don't want to carry it with the buckles facing outwards, you could flip it over and you'll have a tote instead of a satchel. (see pics above).
If you're interested in either owning a piece of history or your very own 'piece of Art', get this WW2 Painted Satchel by Kate Spade for $395 via Kate Spade Online

Paul Smith Floral Clutch cum Purse |

Paul Smith 'Cecilia'
Paul Smith 'Cecilia' - Interior View
Wow. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine something so artsy and yet chic and elegant from Paul Smith. Well, you might ask why I say that but, Paul Smith's collections, be it bags or items from his RTW collection, all have a certain look...(yes his stripey signature look mostly). So you can imagine how stunned I was when I chanced upon this beauty. I absolutely adore the watercolour sorta effect on the floral print. It actually gives the illusion as if the flowers have actually been handpainted onto it! With the granny purse styled kiss lock closure on this leather framed clutch, together with the pink canvas lining, the result is simply stunning! A marriage of Art and Romanticism - a match made in heaven! Get this for £ 225 from Paul Smith Online . Also available in Red

Bargain of the Week! |

As seen in the May 2007 edition of US InStyle magazine, this week's Bargain of the Week is a Polyester-Cotton clutch with floral motif print and faux leather piping and trimmings. The print on this clutch reminds me of the artsy funky mod floral prints on Diane von Furstenberg wrap dresses, of which I'm a huge fan of! Get this for an absolute bargain at just $18 from PayLess

Lulu Guinness Hummingbird Print Small 'Penny' in Black

Instead of a striped liining, the Black version is lined in fuschia satin that just teases you with a hint of pink, peeking out at you from the side (see pic above). To Celebrate Pucci's 60th Anniversary, Pucci has created 'Collectibles consisting of a very special capsule cllection of 4 iconic pieces from the brand's archives. Rafe Frame Clutch |

Rafe 'Mustique' Frame Clutch
With a carved wooden spindle frame with metallic leaf print Fabric made of Italian Jute, this 'Mustique Frame Clutch' by Rafe exudes a 'Artsy Fartsy' Vintage vibe with an Oriental Twist, especially with the interior gold Brocade lining. The reason why I'm saying it's slightly Oriental, is because the leaf print reminds me of bamboo leaves and Brocade, is a material usually used for a Chinese Traditional Costume, the Cheongsam. As featured in InStyle Magazine's Spring Accessory Report, March 2007, get this Artsy 'Mustique' Frame Clutch for $295 via Rafe.com, Nordstrom or Call 877-772-3369. Again, it's perfect for that SJP's 'Carrie' look in Sex and the City
