This week, we feature the new Took Tote Media by Tod's - a smooth grained leather tote with aged gold metal hardware and logo-engraved studs throughout the bag. This Italian-made tote also doubles as a sling and opens up with the push-lock closure to two interior compartments and a leather-trimmed zip pocket. What's more, the buckle frame top allows adjusting of bag capacity.
Sounds good? Sounds very luxurious isn't it? But of course it has to be.. It's on our Splurge of the Week with a whopping $2,165.00 price tag to it. But if you take notice.. it's also listed on our Love It or Hate It. Must be wondering why huh? Sounds perfect doesn't it? Can't imagine why I'm saying it? You're still liking it, aren't you? Well, scroll down to the picture and tell me what you think again after seeing it..
Tod's New Took Tote Media
Well, what do you think now? The description sounded perfect, doesn't it? Well, unfortunately the visual part doesn't quite do the trick. It's small, it's old fashioned and nothing spectacular, wouldn't you say?

Love It or Hate It: 3.1Phillip Lim Runway Envelope Clutch |
It's been a while since envelope clutches became popular among the designers and we're out again with one - direct from the runway - by 3.1 Phillip Lim.
3.1 Phillip Lim Runway Envelope Cutch, Taupe
3.1 Phillip Lim Runway Envelope Clutch, Marine
A smooth grained lambskin with siny finish, both clutches come with contrast topstitching, diagonal seam across the corners (back and front) with a black leather patches and leather covered rhinestone embellishments decorated on one side.
Opened at the top with double zippers, the clutch is definitely top notch when it comes to quality (even right down to the fine textile lining) but the colors are dull, the design proved no flair for art/design/experience was needed to create such a.. Anyway, the use of lambskin, embellishments to create an envelope clutch for the runway was great but when put together, it's all wrong! And I'm pretty sure it had to do with taste!
Available via eLuxury, the Runway Envelope Clutch is priced at $275.00

Love It or Hate It: Christian Louboutin Assorted Detail Wristlet |
Christian Louboutin Assorted Detail Wristlet
Featured on today's 'Love It or Hate It' is an item we picked out from Christian Louboutin. A brand name that's well known for its shoes, Christian Louboutin shows no less attention is paid to the design of its bags.
This time round, we're looking at a very colorful wristlet (red/white/teal/orange) that comes with leather trimming and cutout assorted details with glossy, clear covering. This wristlet with zip around closure opens up to fine leather lining with interior patch and zip pockets for extra storage.
And why's it under our 'Love It or Hate It' column, you say? Well, firstly, it's extremely bright colored.. a bright orange to be exact.. and lots of patches that looked as if it was a no-brainer bag and required no flair for designing whatsoever. No doubt, the use of good materials should receive credit of some sort but if it doesn't appeal to the general public, it will not reap good returns - which I certainly hope isn't the reason why it's on a 28% discount.
The Christian Louboutin Assorted Detail Wristlet is now priced at $499.99 and available via bluefly

Love It or Hate It: Be and D Chatterley Satchel |
Be and D Chatterley Satchel
This week's pick on our Love It or Hate It column is the Be and D Chatterley Satchel - a black patent leather satchel with lavender patent leather ruffle detail. The bag also comes with stud details which goes down the centre of the ruffles, side pleating, stud detail at the sides, gun metal silver hardware, a detachable chain with patent leather woven through and the list goes on.
By now, you should be able to tell that there's too much going on in the bag. Too many details. From what I've noticed in the past, too much detail can be disasterous. You might not agree with me. Anyhow, the bag is lined in twill and features an inside zippered pocket for storing your things.
The Be and D Chatterley Satchel is priced at $795.00 and may also be used as an oversized satchel.
Available via ShopJake

Love It or Hate It: Prada Pizzo Satchel (Runway Collection) |
I've always been a fan of Prada. But Bagaholic Babe knew, from their Fall/Winter 2008 showing at Milan Fashion Week earlier this year, that this coming season would NOT be one that I will be looking forward to. Why? Well, simply because everything from their F/W '08 is made of Lace. I've never been a fan of lace, not even on my clothes (plus the fact that I'm allergic to lace helps because my mum wouldn't have dared to put me in anything lacey when I was young due to the fear of me breaking out in a rash all over) simply because it looks well, rather erm...granny-ish, imho. I may be a total girly girl, but lace really isn't my thing. I thought the lace bags (mostly in black) were distasteful enough, but let's just say that what I saw at Prada's Milan Fashion Week show did not at all prepare me for THIS...
Yes, now that you've seen it, it's a Showstopper in every way isn't it? Pity it isn't for the right reasons. This my dear BagAddicts, is the new 'Pizzo S' satchel that is made of nappa leather with lace overaly and ruched details on its edges. Man, this may definitely be a bag that only Morticia Addams from the Addams Family would carry. My dear Miuccia, what exactly were you thinking? I guess for 2 years now, Prada's Fall/Winter stuff seem rather err....peculiar. Last year it was the fringed nappa tote that resembled an Afghan dog from afar, and this year, its THIS... or rather, the lace collection in general. I guess F/W aren't really inspiring times for the House of Prada as Spring/Summer collections are milestones better. Ah well, what can I say. Fashion has its ups and downs and not everyone has to agree. Beauty, after all, is in the eyes of the beholder...
For those of you who disagree with me, this Prada 'Pizzo S' satchel can be Pre-Ordered for $1,995 via Saks .

Love It or Hate It: Miu Miu Nappa Patch Petals Satchel |
Goodness gracious! I couldn't believe what's I found on the 'New Arrival' section at Saks.
Miu Miu Nappa Patch Petals Satchel
Yeah.. you're right! It's the Miu Miu Nappa Satchel with Patch Petals. Extremely unbelievable, the bag comes is a (so they say..) "ladylike top-handled style that looks totally modern with petal accents of soft leather". Honestly, if those were petals then they must've come off a dying tree. The shapes, I know, are supposed to be petals but do petals really look like that? Don't know if you agree but the bag is outrageous and definitely isn't lady-like. It's a no brainer and I'm really surprised they can put such a item as this up for sale! I wonder who'll in their right mind wanna own this?!!
Anyway, I might be wrong. But there's definitely no in between. It's a love it or hate it kinda thing. Drop us a comment and let us know what you think about today's find!
The Miu Miu Nappa Patch Petals Satchel comes with silvertone hardware, double wrapped leather handles, closes up with a zip and lined with satin. It is available for purchase via Saks Fifth Avenue at $1,240.00

Love It or Hate It: YSL Raspail Canvas Tote |
Today's Love It or Hate It post features the Raspail Canvas Tote by YSL. I can imagine the sheer horror on BagObsessed Babe's face when she looks at this post...only because I have tarnished the image of her new favourite uber luxury label, YSL. But I think she'll agree with me on this one, that it looks rather, well, er, cheapish... Ok, I know what your reaction will be my dear reader.. I'll predict that it'll go like this..."What?! YSL?! Cheapish?! No Way! Since When?" Alright, why don't you take a look for yourselves if you don't believe me....
There, you've seen it, the all new Raspail Canvas Tote by YSL. Don't you think that if it weren't for the hanging signature YSL tag, you wouldn't even know that it's a YSL creation innit? YSL, which is usually so classy suddenly comes out with something so er, trashy (sorry to say). I don't know about you lot, but when I first saw this YSL tote, it looked as if it it got hit by a paint bucket, or rather a fresh can of scarlet paint.
However, if you happen to like this bag, its made of coated canvas with red leather handles, YSL tag and red leather trimmings, and it's available via Saks for $995.

Love It or Hate It: Swarovski Crystal and Leather Handbag |
I could hardly believe my eyes when I came across this bag. Look at the pic below and you'll understand why.
Inspired by modern architecture and intended to look as a work of art, this handcrafted leather and Swarovski crystal handbag is the result of this inspiration. Individually handcrafted by specially trained artists, this bag is hand sewn to perfection. With literally thousands of cascading Swarovski crystals on a 26" crystal strap embellished with crystals adorning the bag, this Spacia designed handbag has an additional seven strands of crystals that hang from the body of this bag. Talk about taking the bling and bejewelled factor to a whole new level in terms of handbag design. Available for a whopping $2400 via Vivre
Well, I don't know what you, my fellow BagAddicts think, but I think it's much too over the top for my liking. Plus, with that many crystals, it's gotta feel as if you're lugging a chandelier on your shoulder. BUT, if it were to be used as a hanging ornament to decorate your white wall at home, OR as a collector's item because you've never seen a bag like this before, then I don't mind getting it.
Do You Love it Or Hate It?? We wanna hear from you!

Love It or Hate It: Fendi Sequin and Wool Embellished Tote |
This week's Love it or Hate It post features Fendi's Sequinned and Wool Embellished Tote from its Fall/Winter 2007 Collection.
I must admit that I was rather horrified when I saw this bag. I've always been and still am a total Fendi-holic, but this one is just unforgivable. The first thought that came to mind when I first laid my eyes upon it was that it looks like a hybrid between 2 types of birds - a cross between a turkey (represented by the scalloped bits in the middle) and a vulture (long woolly mop-like Afghan dog bits). Yes, those of you who regularly follow our blog might recall that I referred to one of the bags at Fendi's F/W '07 runway show at Fashion Week early this year as bearing a striking resemblance to holding a dead bird by the scruff of the neck. Well, the only difference between that one and this bag being featured today is that this one is a representation of not one but two dead birds...
However, there are some who have a very different opinion than mine. Net-a-Porter actually featured this bag in one of their Top 10 for Fall saying that it's "a statement bag with intricate, couture-like detailing. An essential for every Fendi lover." (emphasis added by Bagaholic Babe). Well I don't know if it's really couture-like detailing, but an essential for every Fendi lover?!?! *flabbergasted* Excuse me, I AM a Fendi lover but er, definitely very far from essential for me..
Priced at £3,309.36 and available via Net-a-Porter. Hm, honestly, I wouldn't even carry it if I was paid that price to carry it.
So, do you Love It or Hate It? We wanna hear from you!

Love It or Hate It: Fendi B. Mix Baulotto |
Fendi B. Mix Baulotto
Fendi's new collection features the Fendi B. Mix Baulotto - a double-F coated leather shoulder bag with Zucca coated leather appliqué. If you're loving camouflage-like design, this is it!
This bag is one of the few that I find has many details on it - orange contrast stitching, slight gathering at corners that create a ruched effect and rolled coated leather handles being a few of them.
Love it or hate it? You decide.
Available at eLuxury, the bag is going for $1,220.00

Love It or Hate It? Splurge of the Week. |
I know that our Splurges of the Week so far, have been very yummy-looking bags that you'd love to Splurge on, but just for this week, we're doing things rather differently. For, this week's Splurge of the Week also doubles up as a 'Love It or Hate It' post, simply because I can't decide whether I love this bag or hate it. I guess you could call it a love-hate relationship with the bag on my part? There are times when I look at this bag and think, hm, it's quite unique and that perhaps the look of the bag is growing on me. Other times, however, I look at this bag and think "Gross!". Anyway, whichever camp you belong to (ie. the 'lovers' or the 'haters'), you can look at today's post in two ways: it's either a Splurge because you love it, or it's a HUGE splurge because you think its awful and can't bear to part with such a huge sum of money on something as dare I say, 'horrifying' as this bag...
the 'JC7' Bag by Jimmy Choo
Firstly, I'd like to say that this bag is of the very Exotic sort. Made of Beaver fur, with watersnake and ostrich trims, the JC7 bag by Jimmy Choo warrants itself as this week's Love It or Hate It cum Splurge of the Week. I mean, who's ever heard of a handbag made of Beaver Fur?! It's certainly the first time for me! Now, do you know why I said this bag is of the Very Exotic sort?! *tsk tsk*. Because it's made of super-Exotic materials, it also comes with a super-expensive pricetag... €2,050.00, Yes, the price is in Euros. Available via Jimmy Choo

Love It or Hate It : Tweed Mirrored Pouch |
Balenciaga Tweed Mirrored Pouch
Check out this pouch from Balenciaga's Fall '07 collection. Made from tweed, the pouch comes with gold hardware, a granny purse lock and an extremely huge mirror. But why a huge mirror? In my opinion, the item is plain unpractical - especially when it doubles as a snap closure. You're bound to leave your finger prints on it, dust is bound to collect it, it's so fragile it could break if you're not careful and it isn't the best item to bring with you on a dinner date - with the spotlight shining on the mirror and it reflecting on you. Trust me, it does nothing for your skin!
The verdict: Hate it!
However, if you think otherwise, find out more at Balenciaga
