It's been a while since we posted on travel items. With the holiday season is coming up, it'd be good to share a few items that'd come in handy during the summer.

Louis Vuitton F/W '08

So quickly has the year come and gone and here we are again posting about something from the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter collection. I must say.. I'm terrible disappointed in their collection this time round (as with the past year). I've been searching page after page of detailed shots to give you the best pieces from the collection but am sad to say, there were none.

Nevertheless, I'll show you a few shots so you'll understand why I'm so disappointed.



A metallic piece in an unknown shape that I honestly think looks cheap.

And this one.. I've got no words for this.

See what I mean, people? Although so, I must say I've been wrong about this before. There are some pieces which CAN look pretty when you see the real thing. So, head on to the boutiques to take a look at them before you decide.

Oh.. I forgot to add.. there are two pieces which are less weird looking but I wouldn't pay that price even if it WAS a Louis Vuitton. Take a look at it for yourselves..

I don't know about ya'll but to me, this looks like one of the 'fleurs' or flowers on Louis Vuitton's Monogrammed bags. Apart from that, The shape of the bag and the general style of the bag also reminded me of Chanel pieces. Pastiche of LV and Chanel = this Chloe bag. Don't you think? Could've fooled me! When I first saw the bag, without thinking, I immediately recognised and registered in my head that it definitely had to be an LV creation...until I saw the word 'Chloe' on it. Anyway, this bag is a great way to fool others, as I'm sure it ain't just me, but the bag will register in everyone's minds that it's an LV piece. Splurge of the Week!

This Week's Splurge of the Week is the Embroidered Spy Bag by Fendi. Initially released as a Limited Edition 'Spy' Bag in 2005, the wait list for the bag in London was more than 2 pages long when it was first released...which is why I was very surprised when I saw that it is still on sale. So if you wanna get your hands on this supposed Limited Edition embroidered 'Spy' with beaded accents and embossed leather handles, it's available via Saks . No big loss for those of you who got on the waitlist for this embroidered 'Spy' when it was first released though, as it still retails for the same price - a whopping $6,040!

Well, well well...This is perhaps the best collection (together with the Monogram Polka Dots Panema) out of Vuitton's whole Spring/Summer Collections for this year. This 'Monogram Olympe' Collection consists of 3 bags - the Cirrus, the Stratus and the Nimbus. This 'Olympe' Collection was inspired by Greek Mythology and Mount Olympus (hence 'Olympe' Collection). Made of lamb leather, Louis Vuitton's signature monogram logo print is embroidered (utilising elastic thread) onto the leather to create the smoky, fleecy effect and to give it a buffed washed look and feel.

Louis Vuitton has added a few new collections to its ever-expanding family. From Vuitton's 'Show Spring 2007 Collection' is the Monogram Dentelle. If you wanna view the other new collections, check back in during the next few days, for I will be featuring the other 'Show Spring 2007' Collections - the Polka Dots Panema and the Riveting Collection.

Todays featurette is the Monogram Dentelle line, as seen in LV's latest ad campaign for Spring-Summer 2007, featuring Scarlett Johansson. Louis Vuitton's iconic signature Monogram Print is taken to a new level..this time, with embellishments, details and embroidery. The Monogram Dentelle line was inspired by 18th-Century style lingerie lace that adorns the bag, thus creating a rather romantic look. Floral embroidery on the Monogrammed Canvas (using lurex thread) also adds to this Romantic feel. And also new to the brand this season (also seen in the other lines which will be featured in the next few days), is the hardware, which sports a creased-look finishing. I don't know about you my fellow BagAddicts, but this Monogram Dentelle Collection is not my cuppa tea. A tad overcooked and overdone for Bagaholic Babe's liking. Bagaholic Babe doesn't mind the creased-finished hardware, but apart from that, prefers the Monogram Canvas line without the embellishments and embroidery.

It seems as if the Lacroix Fall/Winter Collection 2007 consists mainly of structured top handle bags, most of which are embellished. The printed fabric ones are a tad too gaudy for my liking. To be honest, they look like upholstery fabric. Perhaps this Fall/Winter Collection is for the more mature consumer. The only one I can probably see myself carrying is the last boxy bag in blue leather.

Bottega Veneta showcased their Spring-Summer ’07 Collection at Fashion Week and this particular Frame tote caught my eye. With its striking embroidered bird motif, it’s not like your regular Bottega Veneta woven bag -- the only visible woven bits are on the handles. If you want a Bottega Veneta bag that looks different from the rest, this is certainly it! The good thing about this bag is that although it’s made from fabric, the leather frame at the top and the leather piping on the bag holds the bag’s shape so it doesn’t look ‘shapeless’ like most fabric bags.

Christian Lacroix White Leather Structured Bag with Gold Hardware

Christian Lacroix, whom, if you didn't know is also the Creative/Artistic Designer for the Emilio Pucci label. That aside, the 2 bags above is from their Spring-Summer '07 Collection. The first embellished Embroidered tote is a lovely colour, with its intricate and elaborate design -- almost belonging to the Baroque Era in fact.

The second photo is Lacroix's White Leather Structured Bag with Gold Hardware. Though It looks really nice and classy, the zippered bottom bit reminds me of an overnight bag as well as a sportsbag (You know, the kind where the bottom bit is where you're supposed to put your shoes in??) That said, the bag looks rather clunky and heavy though.
