"I'm Not A Smug Twat" Bag, inspired by "I'm Not A Plastic Bag"

In reaction to and Inspired by Anya Hindmarch's "I'm Not a Plastic Bag", here's a new eco-friendly bag that looks and is designed in exactly the same style as the "Plastic Bag", yes, rope handles, trimmings and letterings included. The only difference perhaps is that unlike Anya's "Plastic Bag", the lettering on this bag is painted on instead of stitched on. This "I'm Not a Smug Twat" bag is also a Limited Edition which you can Pre-Order.

Hm, however Bagaholic Babe prefers the original "Plastic Bag" and not this. I mean, hey, don't you think if you want to capitalise on whatever following that Anya Hindmarch has started, be more inventive and create your own! The fact that it replicates the original "Plastic Bag" is utterly uninventive. I mean, this "Smug Twat" bag even uses the same brush script and puts the words "NOT A" in caps in the same position as the original Plastic Bag. Bottomline is, if you wanna start a new fad, find your own way and not rip off other peoples ideas. Perhaps the designers of this "Smug Twat" bag think that it's a way to poke fun at the original Plastic Bag, but I think that the joke's really on themselves! This imho, is probably even worse than those "Plastic Bag" fakes out there...

However, if your opinion differs from mine, and think that it's cute or funny then it's available for £20.00 or US$39.62 (which is about 4 times the price of the original "Plastic Bag") at Marissa V

Fake Anya Hindmarch "I'm Not a Plastic Bag" Spotted!!

Well, I was at the Curve's flea market yesterday, and I stumbled upon fake "I'm Not a Plastic Bag"s. Well, firstly, it's blatantly obvious that those are fakes. They come in a multitude of ugly colours, and the rope handles are too thin, the shape is off, and unlike the original, the words "I'm Not a Plastic Bag" are painted on and not sewn on. Well, perhaps the most passable fake I saw - with the same shape and size as the original (except for the painted on font and handles that replicate the original but are a tad too skinny) were at a stall in front of Cineleisure. Oh and apart from the Curve, these fake 'Plastic Bags' can be found aplenty at Sungei Wang. Oh and the most important thing of all, the fakes are even more expensive than the original one! The fakes retail for as much as RM70+ while the original was only RM55. Very silly indeed to pay for a fake (that doesn't even remotely resemble the original) that costs more than the original.

Anya Hindmarch Receives Glamour Award 2007

Anya was awarded Accessory Designer of the Year at the prestigious Glamour awards. This is the second year running that Anya has received this honour.

The other winners included Victoria Beckham (Woman of the Year & Entrepreneur of the Year), Sienna Miller (Film Actress of the Year), Luella Bartley (Fashion Designer of the Year), Dame Helen Mirren (Outstanding Contribution), Angelina Jolie (Inspiration Award), Beyonce Knowles (International Solo Artist of the Year), and Teri Hatcher (Writer of the Year).

Anya Hindmarch 'Marlie' Bag

I must say that the general look and design of Anya Hindmarch's bags have evolved tremendously. Previously, one could more or less identify an Anya Hindmarch piece by looking at it, but this one had me baffled. When I saw this, I initially thought that it was a Gucci piece, due to the chain link gold bits in the middle of the bag, as Gucci had a few bags in a similar design and style, from the embossed leather GG monogram collection. Much to my surprise, it was actually an Anya Hindmarch piece.

I'm a person who loves large totes. Other than my wallet, tissue and my mobile phone (and I have 2, btw.. hahaaha.. for biz purposes), I also carry around my facial blotter, lip balm (am terribly afraid of chapped lips) and a bottle of water (believe me, the bottle of water is a REAL necessity - especially when you live in Malaysia where the weather's hot and humid).
