Fendi Paillette Spy Bag


This week features the Fendi 'Paillette' Spy Bag - for those with an acquired taste. Made from soft peddle-grained leather, this Spy Bag comes with braided smooth leather piping, shoulder straps with thorn-like knots (as with the other Spy Bags), a hidden mirrored compartment in the loop of the flap closure and a secret coin purse inside flap. Lined in their very own signature Zucca jacquard lining, you'll find that it's no different from the other Spy Bags - except for the decorative multicolored leather paillettes on the front and rear which gives the bag a totally different look altogether.

I mentioned earlier that it is for those with an acquired taste. Well, I suppose some would prefer the classic pieces simply because it is easy to complement the outfit they're going to wear from day to day. Hot Pink Dior Bag

Dior Ethnic Large Hobo Bag


A very large hot pink hobo, the Dior Ethnic bag comes in Dior's logo jacquard and smooth leather. Together with its antiqued silver metal hardware, the bag has braided leather straps and leather whipstitching woven through grommets along the seams and a logo-embossed heart and tassel with long, braided straps that dangle from the handle. Isn't that just sweet?

The Dior Ethnic Large Hobo bag has an open top that opens and closes with a magnet. It is lined with nylon and has interior zip pockets, a patch pocket and a pocket specially for your mobile. Definitely worth considering - especially when it's only going for $916.00.

Fendi Forever Sequinned Borsa

Yes, naturally, being a total Fendiholic, I just had to feature this. From the Fall/Winter 2007 Collection, this Fendi 'Forever Sequined Borsa' is in its signature Zucchiino-print fabric (small 'FF' logo) accented with clear sequins allover. I love the multicoloured metallic Orange/Pink/Blue/Gold calfskin leather trims, but I know I'd certainly prefer it if the bag came without the sequins. Well one thing's for sure, this bag will definitely 'Pop' and get you noticed during the Fall/Winter season! Available for $760 via Neiman Marcus

Presenting: Fendi's Fall Trunk Show F/W '07

Presenting: Fendi's Fall/Winter Trunk Show 2007


Here are some of the bags from Fendi's Fall/Winter 2007 Trunk Show. I've only chosen a few bags from the F/W '07 Collection to write about, mainly the new shapes and designs that are new to the House of Fendi. Of course, there are the regular Classic Fendi Bags, such as the Chef bag in Patent Leather, etc, but I've left these out because they are not new shapes. The bags pictured here are slightly more innovative - channelling the edgy, Deconstructed vibe. Most of the bags can be converted into clutches for the evening, however, Imho, the bags from this collection aren't necessarily fantastic looking.

First up, the the Raddica Boston Bag


Following in the footsteps of Louis Vuitton, this F/W '07 Season sees Fendi experimenting with the Patchwork style. Utilising its signature printed Zucca jacquard canvas and a super-sized logo jacquard canvas with brown vinyl trimmings, there's only one word to describe its look: Deconstructed. Next, we have the Convertible Zucca Bag



Similar to the Raddica Boston Bag above, this Convertible Zucca Bag is also in the patchwork style, using a combination of the Zucca Jacquard, the super-size logo Jacquard Canvas and Brown Vinyl trimmings. The bag converts into a flap clutch (shown below)

Remember the Woven Crossword Tote from Fendi's Spring/Summer 2007 Collection? Well for this Fall/Winter season, the Woven Tote now comes in Super-sized Zucca Jacquard. Well, I've never really been a fan of this Woven-styled tote (ok, in fact, not at all), but compared to those from this year's Spring/Summer Collection, if I absolutely had to pick which one I like best, then I guess it'll have to be this one. This 'To You' purse is Similar in style to the Convertible Zucca Bag above, minus the deconstructed patchwork. This 'To You' purse is a combination of taupe suede and leather, with tortoiseshell trimmings. Below is how the bag looks when it's folded over into a clutch.

Also from the 'To You' Collection, this Convertible bag is available in Ivory (shown) Multicolour (shown) and Black. I'd say the Multicolour 'To You' Purse is the probably the only bag I like from Fendi's F/W '07, and coming from a Fendiholic herself.. I've been raving about this Multicolour 'To You' Bag since I saw it at Fendi's lacklustre F/W '07 Showing at Fashion Week. It's finally available!! Whoopee! Get this for $1300 via Neiman Marcus.




Last but not least, the Shearling Shopping Chef Bag. For, what F/W collection would ever be complete without something in Shearling? Besides fur, Shearling is the other must-have in every F/W Collection. This F/W, Fendi's Classic 'Chef' Bag is made of Ivory knit and given a Shearling coat, trimmed with dark brown leather and brown beading details. Like all Fendi Chef Bags, this Shearling Chef has Fendi's cutout logo charm. This is called a 'Shopping Chef' Bag because unlike Fendi's signature Chef bags with flap top closures, this particular one is open-topped. L.A.M.B. Manchester Foldover Clutch

Similar in style and in design to Kate Spade's Foldover Clutches, the 'Manchester' Foldover Clutch by Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. label oozes with urban chic and edge. Like most foldover clutches, you can always open it up and carry the bag as a tote instead of a clutch.

Dualism Personified -- New Fendi B. Mix Range

The brains behind this New B. Mix Range isn't Lagerfeld, but Silvia Venturinini Fendi, the woman who shares the Head Designer Position with Lagerfeld - the same woman who designed Fendi's iconic 'Baguette' Bag in the 90s (in which SJP's character 'Carrie' in Sex and the City had made even more popular, using different versions of the bag, be it sequinned, beaded, etc in TV's most fashionable series to date). My fellow BagAddicts may remember the scene in which Carrie was mugged and when asked for her bag, she slowly handed over, emphasising that it wasn't a bag, but a 'Baguette'.

Once again, Fendi Makes history. For the first time ever, Fendi combines both of its signature jacquard logo prints - the Zucca (the Big 'FF' Monogram designed in the 80s) and the Zucchino (small 'FF' monogram designed in the 60s). The Result: the concept behind the dualistic nature of Fendi's New B. Mix Range. Canvas was used to trim Canvas and instead of leather, and for a lighter feel, Venturinini opts for a rubber alternative to create the main body of the bag. According to Venturinini, This New B.Mix Range was created because Fendi hadn't created a logo bag for a very long time. After working mostly with leather for the Fendi's iconic 'Spy' Bags and 'B' Bags, she figured that it was time that the brand return to its roots, hence both the signature 'FF' monogram.

Ahhhh one of the most coveted 'It' bags since it was introduced.
