Love It or Hate It: Swarovski Crystal and Leather Handbag

I could hardly believe my eyes when I came across this bag. Look at the pic below and you'll understand why.

Well, I don't know what you, my fellow BagAddicts think, but I think it's much too over the top for my liking. Plus, with that many crystals, it's gotta feel as if you're lugging a chandelier on your shoulder. BUT, if it were to be used as a hanging ornament to decorate your white wall at home, OR as a collector's item because you've never seen a bag like this before, then I don't mind getting it.

Presenting: Chanel's New Ankle Bag, Hot off the Runway!!

Hot off the runway, is this new fad, the Ankle Bag! Seen on Chanel's the Spring/Summer 2008 runway at Fashion Week recently, this ankle bag is a novelty indeed! I've never seen any designer do an ankle bag before. The trend is quickly spreading like wildfire in the Celebrity circuit. Rumour has it that ankle bags was a trend fueled by celebs on House Arrest, who used this sort of ankle bag to hide their House Arrest detector thing-a-ma-jig. Very clever indeed, don't you think?


However, Bagaholic Babe isn't a fan of it though.

Hermes Eco-Friendly Bag!

When we first blogged about Anya Hindmarch's "I'm Not a Plastic Bag" early this year, we also mentioned that Hermes has also gone green. For all you Hermes fans out there, here's a look at the new Eco-Friendly Bag by Hermes. Called the "Silky Pop" Bag because it's made from silk and leather, this bag is not a limited edition (unlike the "Plastic Bag"). The design and motifs on the "Silky Pop" come from Hermes's popular scarf prints from the brands archives. So, the prints that will be used on this "Silky Pop" bag will vary from season to season.




What's unique about this bag is that as shown in the picture above, this bag is foldable, making it easily stowed away be it when you travel, or etc. This bag is so creatively and cleverly designed that when you fold the bag, the attached leather base (with the zippers as shown in pic above) actually becomes the bag's carrying case (see the zippered leather square in the girl's hand shown above)! Also, because it's made of silk, it's incredibly light in weight! The Silky Pop is definitely one-of-a-kind, and you can be sure that the whole world wouldn't be toting it around too (like Anya's Plastic Bag)! "I'm Not A Smug Twat" Bag, inspired by "I'm Not A Plastic Bag"

In reaction to and Inspired by Anya Hindmarch's "I'm Not a Plastic Bag", here's a new eco-friendly bag that looks and is designed in exactly the same style as the "Plastic Bag", yes, rope handles, trimmings and letterings included. The only difference perhaps is that unlike Anya's "Plastic Bag", the lettering on this bag is painted on instead of stitched on. This "I'm Not a Smug Twat" bag is also a Limited Edition which you can Pre-Order.

Hm, however Bagaholic Babe prefers the original "Plastic Bag" and not this. I mean, hey, don't you think if you want to capitalise on whatever following that Anya Hindmarch has started, be more inventive and create your own! The fact that it replicates the original "Plastic Bag" is utterly uninventive. I mean, this "Smug Twat" bag even uses the same brush script and puts the words "NOT A" in caps in the same position as the original Plastic Bag. Bottomline is, if you wanna start a new fad, find your own way and not rip off other peoples ideas. Perhaps the designers of this "Smug Twat" bag think that it's a way to poke fun at the original Plastic Bag, but I think that the joke's really on themselves! This imho, is probably even worse than those "Plastic Bag" fakes out there...

However, if your opinion differs from mine, and think that it's cute or funny then it's available for £20.00 or US$39.62 (which is about 4 times the price of the original "Plastic Bag") at Marissa V

HOT BAGS: Cuffz by Linz Bags

I know this brand isn't exactly all that new. In fact, it's been around for quite awhile - around 2 years or so to be exact. But, I thought that I'd share this with you guys, especially those of you in Asia as I'm sure you guys haven't really heard about this or seen this around town. Probably the only part of Asia that it's popular in is Japan.

Celebs like Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson were seen carrying these Cuffz by Linz bags around town when the brand was newly launched.
