After the much sought-after Muse bag, the House of YSL launched the Muse Two earlier this year. I have never been much of a Muse Two fan, preferring the original Muse instead, as the Muse Two has a more mature and structured look that is similar to that of the Birkin. However, that thought went straight out the window when I saw the Muse Two below.
The rich hues of aubergine and maroon ombre paired with the midnight blue on the flap and trims add an even more super-luxe feel to the already luxurious Muse Two in croc-embossed suede. In suede it may be, but Bagaholic Babe still thinks that this bag is a bargain at $1,995 for a YSL piece. I mean, since the man himself, Mr. Saint-Laurent is dead, Bagaholic Babe predicts that this bag will definitely escalate in value in time to come, as the Muse Two is fast becoming an icon. Best Spring 2009 Accessories from Paris |
As always, at the end of every round of Fashion Week, we share with our viewest the best picks for the season. And we're glad to present with you the best selections for Spring 2009 from Paris.
The Space-Age WristletBalenciaga
Metallic crocodile wristlet with chain strap
Looks more suited for the winter season rather than the summer, don't you think? It gives me the icy feeling somehow.
The Logo Bag
Leather tote bag
Nothing I'd wanna own. It's makes me feel as if I'm a free walking advertisement for Chanel rather than being a fashion statement. That's SOOOO totally uncool!
The Western Bag
Suede top-handle tote with fringe detail
Nice. Kinda reminds me of the Babouska Gucci made a while back. Don't think this bag'll work for me though. Top handles on the flap makes stuff hard to reach for (if you know what I mean)
The Slouchy Tribal Bag
Leather monogram bag with cord and bead detail
What can I say about the slouchy tribal bag, you ask? Just THREE words! Yucks, yucks, yucks!
The Price-Conscious Shopper
Nylon tote bag with bead detail
So they've named it the 'Price-Conscious Shopper'. So they're saying it doesn't have a huge price tag to this? Really? Although it's really colorful but somehow it looks kinda dull, don't you think? Colorful yet dull? How odd!
The Patchwork Shoulder Bag
Exotic patchwork shoulder bag with metal hardware
This one's simply fantastic. Love how they've made a patchwork bag out of what looks like python and lizard in few but bright colors! Not to mention, it looks very art deco as well :)
The Chain-Mail Wristlet
Leather wristlet with chain strap
Last but not least, something that looks very cool. So simple yet so fun! Think it'll go with just about anything, don't you agree? :)

Love It or Hate It: YSL Raspail Canvas Tote |
Today's Love It or Hate It post features the Raspail Canvas Tote by YSL. I can imagine the sheer horror on BagObsessed Babe's face when she looks at this post...only because I have tarnished the image of her new favourite uber luxury label, YSL. But I think she'll agree with me on this one, that it looks rather, well, er, cheapish... Ok, I know what your reaction will be my dear reader.. I'll predict that it'll go like this..."What?! YSL?! Cheapish?! No Way! Since When?" Alright, why don't you take a look for yourselves if you don't believe me....
There, you've seen it, the all new Raspail Canvas Tote by YSL. Don't you think that if it weren't for the hanging signature YSL tag, you wouldn't even know that it's a YSL creation innit? YSL, which is usually so classy suddenly comes out with something so er, trashy (sorry to say). I don't know about you lot, but when I first saw this YSL tote, it looked as if it it got hit by a paint bucket, or rather a fresh can of scarlet paint.
However, if you happen to like this bag, its made of coated canvas with red leather handles, YSL tag and red leather trimmings, and it's available via Saks for $995.

YSL Satin Miniaudiere |
I've never really seen a YSL Evening Clutch I've really liked - either they bear that bold YSL logo, or it's just not to my taste. However, Bagaholic Babe thinks that this one sets itself apart from most of the YSL clutches that we seem to see. This box frame Satin Miniaudiere is less 'serious' looking. In fact, true to signature YSL style and character, it's simple and chic, but it stands out from the other YSL Evening bags in terms of its playfulness.
Designed to resemble an envelope, it bears YSL's address print detail in gold on the front, complete with a postal stamp detail. In fact, minus the stamped part and that resembling an envelope, this satin miniaudiere actually reminded me of Louis Vuitton's Antigua Collection, where the LV address was first introduced on a plaque that adorns the bags. Having said that, I still think that this YSL Miniaudiere has more character =). I love this. Ooh, plus there's the added bling factor with the rhinestone twist lock closure. Get this for $1,395 from Saks .
If you're not a Black person, this bag also comes in Red. However, Bagaholic Babe was never too much of a red fan, and it's in bright red, and looks too Film Noir Femme Fatale like for my liking..

YSL Animal Print Shopper |
Coincidentally, this week's bags on our Bagfetish blog seems to be an Animal Print filled one. Lol. Well, this means that firstly, Animal Prints are still very much in fashion right now, and secondly, that both BagObsessed Babe and yours truly (Bagaholic Babe) is evidently a fan of Animal Prints, innit? Lol ;)
Anyway, today's post features the new 'Palma' Shopper by YSL.
I was wondering what it was that makes this bag so bold and striking, and I finally understood why. I don't know if you, my fellow BagAddicts noticed, but usually Animal Print bags are usually just well, in Animal Prints with just some leather trims and bits to accent the bag. This particular YSL 'Palma' Shopper (Large), however, is not a completely covered Animal Print sort. In fact, the amount of leather used is almost proportionate to the Leopard print part. As such, the leather somehow acts as a backdrop to the leopard print and balances out the whole bag, making it even more striking than your usual and more common Animal Print bag. If you like this bag as much as Bagaholic Babe does, it's not available in stores yet, but you can Pre-Order it for $1,695 via Bergdorf Goodman

New Addition to the YSL Bag Family |

The Uptown Bag (Small) is yet another addition to the YSL Bag Family. Made of patent leather with metal frame and gold tone hardware details and lined in luscious satin, it also has the turnlock closure on its predecessor, the 'Muse' (which has reached its 'It' Bag status that boasts a cult following, especially in the celebrity circuit). However, Bagaholic Babe prefers the Rive Gauche Bag to this Uptown Bag and even to the Muse. Imho, the Muse and this Uptown Bag looks as if it's for a slightly more mature age group. But then again, some friends of mine prefer mature-looking bags. Ah well *shrugs*. If this is your cuppa' tea, it's available for $1,895.00 via Saks

YSL Rive Gauche Bag |
Could this be YSL's next 'It' Bag after the 'Muse'?
If you fell in love with YSL's 'Muse' Bag, then this one will surely set your heart on fire! This Rive Gauche Bag stays true to the brand's Luxe appeal.
With the turn-lock on the front, this YSL Rive Gauche Bag is similar to the 'Muse'. Perhaps the only difference is the shape, with the Muse looking llike a Bowler bag, while the Rive Gauche bag looks more like a satchel with a flap closure. Made of Cheverette leather with goldtone hardware and a detachable shoulder strap (for the option of wearing it crossbody), this bag comes in 3 colours - White (shown), Chocolate and Black. In Bagaholic Babe's opinion, the Rive Gauche looks best in White, Chocolate probably gives it a Vintage feel whereas Black is the most versatile. Whichever colour you choose, for a YSL piece from the Rive Gauche Collectiion, it's surprisingly affordable, at just $1,795! Hop on over to Saks to get your very own luxe bag!

Presenting: YSL Fall/Winter Collection 2007 |
Hm, YSL didn't have many bags to show this Fall/Winter 2007. In fact, just one! With Exotic Skins as the focus for so many designers we have seen thus far for their Fall/Winter 2007 Collections. Most Designers are favouring Ostrich Skin this season, but for Hermes and Yves Saint-Laurent, the Crocodile Bag is favoured.
The first pic is the front view of the bag and the subsequent pics are of the same bag (but in it's half-open naked glory)
