Stunning YSL Beauty

After the much sought-after Muse bag, the House of YSL launched the Muse Two earlier this year. I have never been much of a Muse Two fan, preferring the original Muse instead, as the Muse Two has a more mature and structured look that is similar to that of the Birkin. However, that thought went straight out the window when I saw the Muse Two below.



The rich hues of aubergine and maroon ombre paired with the midnight blue on the flap and trims add an even more super-luxe feel to the already luxurious Muse Two in croc-embossed suede. In suede it may be, but Bagaholic Babe still thinks that this bag is a bargain at $1,995 for a YSL piece. I mean, since the man himself, Mr. Saint-Laurent is dead, Bagaholic Babe predicts that this bag will definitely escalate in value in time to come, as the Muse Two is fast becoming an icon. New addition to Balenciaga family

The "Motorcycle", the "Twiggy", the "Brief", are all Balenciaga bags that we have become familiar with and accustomed to. Despite the fashion industry being incredibly unforgiving, these "It" bags have survived, and weathered the seasons - "It" bags survive for a few seasons, but these bags have stood the test of time, achieving a somewhat cult status in the fashion world. And now, the latest addition to this ever-expanding cult brand's collection is the new "Pom Pon" bag.

Pictured above is the Arena Giant Covered Pom Pon bag in white, with white hardware and studded details. The white on white hardware definitely gives the bag a minimalist appeal. If you want something that says 'understated chic' then this would be it. Made of wrinkled distressed lambskin with drawstring closure, it comes with a removable shoulder strap. Newsflash: Louis Vuitton Limited Edition Damier 'Neverfull' Bag

Dear Bag Addicts,

As you probably already know, there are a few Limited Editions of the 'Neverfull' bag. First, there was the Limited Edition Murakami Neverfull that was available only at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) in Los Angeles from Oct 2007 to Feb 2008, and the Limited Edition Neverfull in Crocodile Skin a few months ago. Now, there's a Limited Edition 'Neverfull' bag in Damier Canvas available, but only in Hawaii and Japan. However, those of you in other parts of the world, fret not! You too can get a Limited Edition Neverfull in Damier! Reliable sources have told us that a Limited Edition 'Neverfull' in Damier Azur will be released in early 2009. And yes, it will be available in Malaysia too! I don't know whether they're putting people on the waitlist over here already, but maybe you could enquire at a Louis Vuitton boutique and give it a shot if you're interested.

Splurge of the Week!

It's been a while since we've featured anything Gucci on our blog, so this week's Splurge of the Week features a Gucci 'Indy' Bag from this year's Fall/Winter Collection.


Large Indy Bag in Patent

Soon becoming Gucci's latest 'It' Bag since it appeared on the runway last year, (and yes that includes scores of replicas of this bag out there (-- in Malaysia, it's at Vincci too!!), this Fall/Winter sees the 'Indy' Bag being available in bronze Patent leather with the Indy trademark details - the foldover top with metal plate and tassel details. This bag is also available in Medium size, but I prefer the large because the Medium has red tassels instead. The Large size, on the other hand, featured above, comes with black tassels, thus giving the bag a touch of class and a more expensive look. Luella Anita Patent Hobo

Feel that Punk-Rock vibe with this 'Anita' Patent Hobo, from Brit Designer, Luella Bartley's Fall/Winter Collection. Made from crackled patent leather with studded details and chain link shoulder straps with bow detail, this bag definitely captures that slightly 'naughty' dominatrix-ish look (because of the Shiny Black Patent Leather), but without looking overtly kinky nor skanky. So I guess you could say it's naughty but with a touch of class. Lol. Bagaholic Babe isn't usually a fan of the Punk-Rock Chic designs, but I must say I quite fancy this bag. Perhaps the bow on the chain link strap gives the bag a slightly more innocent, a certain 'naughty but nice' feel. Splurge of the Week!

This week's Splurge of the Week is by one of the slightly more obscure designers, Mauro Orietti-Carella Zagliani. This week features the designer's Metallic Python Tote. For those of you not in the know, the designer was a dermatologist-turned-designer. Using his Dermatology background, Zagliani discovered a new technique in the art of handbag making when he came up with the idea of injecting exotic skins such as Python and Crocodile with Silicone to give Exotic skins a buttery soft texture. So needless to say, this designer specialises in Exotic skin handbags.



This belted frame top Metallic Python Bag has expandable gusseted sides and is dubbed as "this season's showstopping 'It' Bag of the season." Availble in Metallic Gold or Metallic Pewter Silver, it retails for $2685 via InterMix. Alternatively, you can also get Zagliani's creations at Saks Fifth Avenue Stores nationwide.

Newsflash: Fendi Limited Edition 10th Anniversary Baguette Bag!!

To commemorate the 10th Anniversary since the launch of Fendi's iconic Baguette designed by Sylvia Venturini Fendi (who shares the Head Designer chair with Karl Lagerfeld), the House of Fendi has created this Limited Edition Beaded Baguette Bag.

'It' Bag List - Paris Fashion Week S/S '08

As always, alongside the New York and Milan Fashion Week, I present you the 'It' bag list for Paris Fashion Week S/S '08 collection. This coming season, you'll notice colors - lots of colors. Colors are in.. and so is leather. Exotic Leather. Paris's S/S '08 collection spots items that goes spectacularly well with your LBD because of its strong (and most often than not, solid) colors.







Take the 'Hand-painted Clutch' by VBH, for example. It's so colorful, it can be a standalone - minus the accessories and it's enough to take other's breath away.

And what about the 'Graphic Clutch' from Christian Dior? It's luxurious ponyskin as well as it's unique design gives others the idea that there is none like it. Definitely an accessory to carry on a dinner date. Be the envy of others while your beau serenades you.

the Tods Python Punk Rock Clutch in electrifying Turquoise! The colour and the zippered details just 'make' the bag! A diversion from the Tods philosophy of Functionality and Classic looking bags, but I absoloutely love it! They should have 'louder' bags of this sort. Very ME indeed.

For a more Classic looking bag, who could say no to the Embroidered Satchel by Bottega Veneta? Love the pastel ombre embroidery details. A bag that can definitely take you from a casual shopping day right into the office!
