The "Motorcycle", the "Twiggy", the "Brief", are all Balenciaga bags that we have become familiar with and accustomed to. Despite the fashion industry being incredibly unforgiving, these "It" bags have survived, and weathered the seasons - "It" bags survive for a few seasons, but these bags have stood the test of time, achieving a somewhat cult status in the fashion world. And now, the latest addition to this ever-expanding cult brand's collection is the new "Pom Pon" bag.
Pictured above is the Arena Giant Covered Pom Pon bag in white, with white hardware and studded details. The white on white hardware definitely gives the bag a minimalist appeal. If you want something that says 'understated chic' then this would be it. Made of wrinkled distressed lambskin with drawstring closure, it comes with a removable shoulder strap. If white isn't your colour, this bag is also available in Red, Dark Green, and Black. Retails for $1,895 at Barneys New York

Marc Jacobs 'Rana' Pouch |
Ever since Bagaholic Babe saw these Marc Jacobs beauties during his Spring/Summer 2008 Fashion Week show, I've been obsessed with these beauties! And now, it's finally available in stores! Yay! How could you not love them, just take a look at the photos below and you'll see why I'm a fan...

The Marc Jacobs 'Rana' pouch is made of unstructured kangaroo leather with a goldtone frog embellished detail on the front, with bejewelled eyes to boot! I know that Fall/Winter Collections are out, and that this is from Marc Jacobs' Spring/Summer collection, but please bear with me. I am just IN LOVE with these beauties! Available in shades of flourescent colours such as Acid Yellow, Bright Orange and Candy Pink, this pouch can also be used as a clutch or wristlet. Just loop it through your wrist and you can have your hands free for the rest of the evening! What's more, it's not just an evening piece. IMHO, you can you it on your day out, on a date or even for lunching with your gal pals! Absolutely LOVE all the colours! If you love it as much as I do, you can get it for just $795 (it's a steal innit for a MJ piece?) via Nordstrom or your nearest MJ stockist or boutique.

Dior Jazzclub S/S '08 |
If you haven't visited the Dior flagship stores of late, let me introduce you the new Jazzclub collection from their Spring/Summer collection that's simply to die for.
A collection that ties together with an engraved metal loop and toggle on every handbag, pouch and wallet, the items come in black and white leather and animal prints.

I would personally recommend the zebra print and the white leather handbag with chain straps although I must say, it can be difficult to maintain the white leather. Nonetheless, they're not to be missed together with the other Jazzclub pouches and wallets I've featured below.

Check them out together with the other accessories from their other collections at the Dior official website.

NY Fashion Week Coverage: Style.com's Best Accesories Picks for Fall/Winter 2008 |
Presenting: Style.com's Best Accessories Picks from New York Fashion Week
The Croc Wrap Handbag by Diane von Furstenberg
The Verdict: Diane von Furstenberg, a designer who has become famous from her ever-popular fashion forward wrap dresses (mostly bright, colourful prints and funky-looking) has unveiled what is known as the 'Wrap' Handbag in Crocodile skins. What can we say, 'wraps' are just her area of expertise! Lol. Bagaholic Babe rather likes this wrap ultra-luxe croc bag in burnt orange.
Embellished Pouch by Donna Karan
The Verdict: This suede pouch comes totally embellished and encrusted in oversized rhinestones that well, er, look like rusty bells or those coin charms you get on charm bracelets from afar, don't you think? I mean, I could hardly tell that it was rhinestones. Bagaholic Babe isn't too much of a fan for this bag. To me, I think that it has a rather Indian influence and vibe, with those 'bell-looking' oversized rhinestones that remind me of those bells that Classical Indian dancers adorn on their ankles.
Double Ring Bag by Marc Jacobs
The Verdict: This Double Ring bag by Marc Jacobs reminds me of the 'Lindy' Bag by Hermes from last Fall/Winter. I guess it's just the whole concept on which the bag is based on - from the double rings to the supple 'folded-in-the-centre' look. Although Bagaholic Babe doesn't really like bags which are to structured, this one isn't my cuppa tea at all.
The City/Country Bag by Ralph Lauren
The Verdict: Well, Ralph Lauren, whose brand philosophy is premised on the whole 'sporting arena', is true to it's sporting style with this luxed-up version of a plaid 'hunting bag' with croc flap. Bagaholic Babe loves the way the crimson stands out against the black top flap. Very eye-catching indeed, however bags like these aren't really my style. But it's a nice bag though.

Louis Vuitton Valentine's Day Specials |
Tell your loved one how much they mean to you with this Limited Special Edition Valentine's Day purse by Louis Vuitton. It comes with a clasp that you can hook onto the D-ring attached to the interior of your bag. Plus, it's very rare that Louis Vuitton products come with charms because oftentimes, you actually have to purchase the charms as an add-on, but this time around, the cute little heart-shaped purse comes with charms! The charms that adorn it are LV's signature monogram charms (LV's logo charm and the flowers you see on LV monogrammed bags).

I know this heart purse was around last year as well, but this time around, it comes in all new shades, besides Red (which was launched last year for a limited period of time). The heart purses come in Miroir (metallic gold and silver) and in shades of Plum, Pink, Black, White and Red from the Monogram Vernis (that's the glazed looking LV monogram collection). It retails for 220 Euros and is currently available at your nearest Louis Vuitton store. Even if not for Valentine's Day, it'd be great for those of you who celebrate the upcoming festive season - Chinese New Year (which is tomorrow!!)!! ;) *wink* Now there's a thought eh? *angelic smile*
For those of you in Malaysia, I'm not really sure which colours they have available here. Perhaps you could give LV a call to enquire: Louis Vuitton StarHill - 03-21418790

Love It or Hate It : Tweed Mirrored Pouch |
Balenciaga Tweed Mirrored Pouch
Check out this pouch from Balenciaga's Fall '07 collection. Made from tweed, the pouch comes with gold hardware, a granny purse lock and an extremely huge mirror. But why a huge mirror? In my opinion, the item is plain unpractical - especially when it doubles as a snap closure. You're bound to leave your finger prints on it, dust is bound to collect it, it's so fragile it could break if you're not careful and it isn't the best item to bring with you on a dinner date - with the spotlight shining on the mirror and it reflecting on you. Trust me, it does nothing for your skin!
The verdict: Hate it!
However, if you think otherwise, find out more at Balenciaga
