Lanvin takes elegance to new heights

Lanvin bags usually have that structured and boxy look. This bag, however, is the total opposite. Made of silk satin, with a chain and ribbon shoulder strap, this bag can definitely take you from a day to evening look. I actually saw this very bag in the store myself, and I must say that the picture doesn't really do the bag justice at all. Also, you might think that the chain straps might be a bit heavy on the shoulder. On the contrary, it really isn't as I actually had the opportunity to try this bag on at the store. However, If dusky pink (Sable) isn't really your colour, this elegant "Happy Ribbon Sac" is also available in Black.

Bagaholic Babe just loves the pleated detail on the flap. This bag is totally chic, elegant and sophisticated. Although I must say that the first thing that struck me when I saw that bag is that it looks a little like the Chanel 2.55, albeit much softer and less structured...

Love It or Hate It: Miu Miu Nappa Patch Petals Satchel

Goodness gracious! I couldn't believe what's I found on the 'New Arrival' section at Saks.

Yeah.. you're right! It's the Miu Miu Nappa Satchel with Patch Petals. Extremely unbelievable, the bag comes is a (so they say..) "ladylike top-handled style that looks totally modern with petal accents of soft leather". Honestly, if those were petals then they must've come off a dying tree. The shapes, I know, are supposed to be petals but do petals really look like that? Don't know if you agree but the bag is outrageous and definitely isn't lady-like. It's a no brainer and I'm really surprised they can put such a item as this up for sale! I wonder who'll in their right mind wanna own this?!!

Anyway, I might be wrong. But there's definitely no in between. It's a love it or hate it kinda thing. Drop us a comment and let us know what you think about today's find!

Splurge of the Week!

Versace Runway Large Stamped Croc Darling Tote

Today's splurge features an iridescent stamped croc and soft puckered leather tote by Versace. From its gold metal hardware, padded leather top handles with stud attachments and flat leather shoulder straps with logo-engraved buckle attachments, you'll find the bag carries a mixture of elements in it. The bag opens up with a magnetic tab to fine satin lining and leather trimmed pockets. What's more, if you prefer to carry it as a backpack, you have an option to do so. Just buckle up the shoulder straps at the base and viola, you're ready to go!

But is it a bag you'd wanna own, you're asking? Well, here's my two cents. I think the bag contains much too many elements in it and am not too favorable of the soft puckered leather on the sides. Looks too much like some animal's internal body parts, if you know what I mean..

Introducing the new Christian Dior Fall/Winter collection..

This coming season, we go back in time to the 60's when beehive hairdos were popular and skinny jeans were introduced. Style.com recognised the collection as the "Kennedy-era America" collection - one that's 'amped up with bright color[s] [and] lashings of paillette embroidery. Also noticeable are geometric prints from the mid-century. Take a look at it for yourself..












Overall, I'd say this collection is made up of solid colors. John Galliano has played around with materials and created a collection of bag that mostly uses metal handles (which can be quite heavy to carry around) with very simple designs. Not forgetting the signature D that appears in all the bags - customising one part of it to match the color of the bag itself. Thumbs up for their Fall/Winter collection!

A Very Pretty Chanel Bag

As you may have already noticed from the picture above, the bag shown is none other than the Chanel 2.55. I always feel excited about publishing a post on the 2.55 - especially when they are cute and fun. Afterall, I'm sure you Bagfetish readers will get just excited about what Chanel has come up with again with its very own icon bag.

Almost all Chanel 2.55 bags come quilted (an inspiration drawn from jackets worn by jockeys) during the 1950 days. Although similar in style, yet, each new piece looks different - just like the one you see above. If you're an avid fan of Chanel accessories, well, this is it!

Made from satin, the bag comes with a chain strap, a silver 'double C' twist lock closure and a cute white bow! Goes well with both day and night wear, it's definitely one of the items on my Wish List.

YSL Satin Miniaudiere

I've never really seen a YSL Evening Clutch I've really liked - either they bear that bold YSL logo, or it's just not to my taste. However, Bagaholic Babe thinks that this one sets itself apart from most of the YSL clutches that we seem to see. This box frame Satin Miniaudiere is less 'serious' looking. In fact, true to signature YSL style and character, it's simple and chic, but it stands out from the other YSL Evening bags in terms of its playfulness.



Designed to resemble an envelope, it bears YSL's address print detail in gold on the front, complete with a postal stamp detail. In fact, minus the stamped part and that resembling an envelope, this satin miniaudiere actually reminded me of Louis Vuitton's Antigua Collection, where the LV address was first introduced on a plaque that adorns the bags. Having said that, I still think that this YSL Miniaudiere has more character =). I love this. Ooh, plus there's the added bling factor with the rhinestone twist lock closure. If you're not a Black person, this bag also comes in Red. However, Bagaholic Babe was never too much of a red fan, and it's in bright red, and looks too Film Noir Femme Fatale like for my liking..

Hot off the Runway!! -- Prada Satin Rose Clutch

For Fall/Winter this year, Prada's bags and accessories had bow themes. Come Spring/Summer 2008, whether it's nylon, leather or satin, or ready-to-wear, Prada's theme seems to be roses, flowers and rosette details. When I first laid eyes upon this bag, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! Those of you who regularly follow our blog will know that yours truly, Bagaholic Babe is a Pink-aholic. So yes, this Stella McCartney Satin Clutch with Zippered Detail in Fuschia just makes me go weak in the knees!




Trimmed with oversized goldtone zipper pulls and faux suede edges, this clutch is in foldover style, with magnetic closures. One of my pet peeves is that pretty as they are (and we know that the prettier they are, the smaller the size and come in odd shapes like the miniaudieres from Judith Leiber),evening clutches can never hold everything I need to bring along with me for the night. This clutch is perfect, however, as it has expandable sides, so you don't have to worry about not being able to bring much. You can stuff it all you want, and this clutch will still appear to be flat! Plus, love that funky rock-chic character that the bag exudes.
